These boots look really cute. One of my heels slips a little when walking, but I tried using a little heavier sock, and that helped a lot. They are very stiff, but I think when I wear them and they get wet, they should loosen up. They are very warm, and I look forward to using them when the weather turns bad! They look well-made but my feet can't handle them. My feet are not wide but I need a wide toe box & this one makes my toes scream. Plus I have bone spurs on the top of one foot & the shoe presses down on those. There isn't much arch support but there isn't enough room to put in an arch support along with even one heavy sock. Oh and by the way I ordered a 7 even tho I wear a 6/6.5. Need to return them.Size right. Light weight warm and seems water resistant but not much use yetTo purchase shoes on line is very hard for me. I wear a size 5 (which is difficult to find) and the sizes very with every brand. I have never bought snow boots before and had no idea what to expect. I was so excited when I took them out of the box! They were exactly as described. Color was right, insulation and fur lining was right even the soles and laces were just as described. They fit PERFECT with one pair of wool socks. My trip to Norway will be much more comfortable since I made this purchase. This was my first ever pair of snow boots. I bought them shortly after moving to New England. I was worried that they would not be tall enough, and I was right. That being said I moved to New England from Hawaii, so I am not at all used to cold weather. The parts of my leg that they did cover stayed 100% warm though, and I would strongly advise anyone who does not get cold below 10º C or 50ºF to buy them. If you are someone who gets cold easily, like me, then I would advise you to think of getting the Ice Maiden II (taller boot version). Although I understand that one is about $12 more, or at least they were when I was shopping around for boots. Personally, the cost of the taller boots was worth it, since these ones work well enough for my purposes. I am only outside long enough to head to classes and walk to the dining hall or groceries. In terms of benefits I will say that these shoes are 100% waterproof as advertised. My feet never once felt cold, and I could even walk through the melted snow slush that was 3 in deep without getting any water/cold/snow in my boot at all. The traction is decent for when you hit small ice patches. However, I would advise anyone who is ordering it with slim ankles and legs to order the size below. No matter how tightly I lace up my boots they are too loose around my ankles/legs, and the foot size is too large as well. I have tried wearing fluffier socks, but the difference in size just doesn't work. For reference I am a size 9.5 in Bearpaws, Nikes, and Adidas. However, the size 9.5s in this boot were just too big.Another huge benefit is the look/style. I am obsessed with how these look. They match the picture exactly, and I was so excited with the look of the product. I got them in the green shade, and every time I put them on they give me Luke vibes from Gilmore Girls.Heading to Montana, but live in Florida, so I needed warm SNOW BOOTS without breaking the bank. I did a lot of research on Columbia’s website and was going to order them there but they ran out of stock. Luckily, Amazon had them in my size and competitively priced, I got an even better deal as an open box item, that to me looked like they never worn, they looked brand new, with tags. Normally I am between an 8 & 8.5. I ordered the 8.5 to accommodate 2 pairs of socks. I was surprised that one pair of socks is snug so if you want extra room order up another half size. The souls are nicely constructed with plenty of grooves for traction on snow and ice. They are suede, material and rubber on the top. They lace up and because they lace up I’m sure water could seep into this area, but the rest of the boot should be fine. The highest point is 7.5 inches, I would not want them higher as it could be an issue with snow pants. They have a fuzzy fleece lining on the inside rim of the boot. They are insulated but wear proper socks to stay warm. They are not heavy on your feet. Overall I’m happy with my purchase and confident based on Amazon and Columbia’s reviews that getting these boots for $48 as an open box was a fantastic deal.Nice feel and look. Completely satisfiedI loved those. I actually bought the taller version first, and then this one at a good price. It’s comfortable - my feet are incredibly fussy, everything gives them blisters and such. I’m a size 10 with a bit of a wide feet (wider right before the toes area) and got them in 10.5. They’re roomy but not in a bad way, I can easily slide my feet in with heavier socks on. Because they are light I don’t feel like I’m dragging my feet as I do with my duck boots from the famous Maine brand, and I feel they’re a bit “bouncy”, giving me decent support. I walk a lot and I walk everywhere, and I’ve had them on for weeks now, sometimes all day long, with no discomfort whatsoever and no break in period required. They feel a bit too firm around the ankles at first, but I actually found this good, giving me proper support. They seem to be water resistant at the very least, having walked under light rain and stepping into puddles with no problem. Decent traction, tested on wet, mild hikes with some steep bits. They look cute, so I don’t have any problems going anywhere (friends’s houses, college, etc) with them. Highly recommended, they’re now my go-to cold weather boots - for the record, I got them instead of the omnipresent weatherproof Chelsea boot (you know which one). I’ve tried a pair of those and despite the fact that they’re sold as a “go with everything” model, they kinda made me look frumpy/sloppy and they definitely did not do any favours for my rather larger calves, making my ankles look too skinny in comparison. Despite being a “sporty” kind of boot, the Ice Maiden looked far more discreet and flattering on me.Great boots! Excellent quality. My job involves walking outside for hours each day. These boots have not hurt my feet and do their job in keeping my feet warm in -25 Canadian winters. Appear to be snow and waterproof. I climb through a lot of snow and waterproof on the package often doesn’t mean the boot is totally waterproof. These have kept my feet dry so far.Luckily our winter has been the mildest in decades (of course, because I bought warm boots to walk the dog) but so far, so good. They do help somewhat on ice. I did a dumb thing and bought 1/2 size up hoping to wear warm socks. GET YOUR TRUE size. The 1/2 size makes the too big - I did due to the reviews. I am normally an 8 and the 8 would have been perfect. Now I tie them doubly tight but I wished I didn't read people saying they fit small - they DO NOT. They seem quite toasty but we have been above zero and into double digits most days (Celsius.)Estas botas valen totalmente la pena, no sentí fríos los pies en lo absoluto, resultaron bastante cómodas para caminar, las use en febrero en Canadá, a una temperatura de -30 y mis pies estuvieron perfectos y como si nada, tenia que probarlas en nieve y debo decir que me sumergí en múltiples ocasiones para evaluar que tan aprueba de agua eran y la verdad superaron mis expectativas, las recomiendo al mil.I put 4 stars because I haven't worn them outside yet, but I am excited about these boots, I ordered a size larger because I want to wear thick socks in them, they feel real good when I tried them on and walked around myhouse for a few minutes. They have a good grip and spacious in toe, I look forward to wearing them when snow arrives which wont be long, I live in Quebec and it's end of October...
